Erika Kazani

Biographical Note

Erika Kazani is conducting her Erasmus traineeship in the Chair of Science Technology and Gender Studies at the Friedrich Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her research during the traineeship focuses on “The Evolution of International Atomic Energy Agency” and specifically on the legal implications of the IAEA’s activity in terms of international law, international labour law, sociology of law, gender and science diplomacy. Erika holds two MA Degrees from the Faculty of Law at the University of Athens in International and European Legal Studies (2020-present) and in Philosophy & Sociology of Law (2018-2019). She has studied Law during her BA Degree at the above Faculty. During 2018 Erika conducted a research traineeship at the Institute of Gender Studies at the Carlos III University in Madrid (https://portal.uc3m.es/portal/page/portal/inst_estudios_genero/estancias_investigacion ), in the context of which she presented her research work in the criminal case of rape “La Manada”, published in Greek at the e-journal “The Art of Crime”. Outside of academia, during the last years Erika has been practicing law in Greece being specialised in gender-based violence legal issues and labour law both in national and international legal framework. She also disposes professional experience in legal representation and counselling on GBV cases among refugee population since she worked as a lawyer in a project funded by UNHCR carried out by DIOTIMA in the island of Lesbos (Greece).
