Biographical Note
Jessie A. Cabrera Roque is a Research Assistant at the Chair of Science, Technology, and Gender Studies (STGS) at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). She belongs to the EndoKI interdisciplinary project funded by the Health and Care Digitization Directive (BayDiGuP), which aims at improving non-invasive diagnostics and supporting the effective treatment of patients with endometriosis. She conducts the ethnographic study exploring its social, ethical, and epistemic dimensions within medical practice.
She holds an M.A. in Standards of Decision-Making Across Cultures from FAU, having completed a thesis on the Mobile Court in Sabah, Malaysia, which explores its relationship to technology, Malaysia’s colonial legacy and the issue of statelessness. She also holds a B.A. in Humanities with a major in Linguistics and Literature, having completed a thesis in the sociolinguistic field.
