Mayor Dr. Florian Janik Visits Living with Radiation Exhibition
On June 24, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Erlangen’s Mayor, Dr. Florian Janik, to the Living with Radiation exhibition at the Siemens Healthineers MedMuseum. Designed by the Chair of Science, Technology and Gender Studies at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on how radiation has shaped our world and how people have lived with radiation throughout the long 20th century.
Dr. Janik took time to engage deeply with the exhibition, offering thoughtful reflections on the scientific, medical, and social dimensions of radiation. His curiosity and openness sparked rich conversation, reminding us why public dialogue on these topics matters—particularly now, as nuclear anxieties resurface amidst renewed geopolitical tensions.
We think that this visit was more than symbolic. It affirmed the role of local leadership in supporting FAU and also critically engaging with our scientific endeavors. We are truly grateful to Dr. Janik for his time, attention, and support.
